UBC Culinary Program in France - Loire Valley

Culinary and Historical Discovery of the Chateaux de la Loire:
A Two-Week Regional Cuisine Program with Chef Eric Arrouze and UBC. August 10-August 23, 2008

Take a journey to ancient times and visit a region classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The Loire Valley is known as the Garden of France and is also noteworthy for its architectural heritage, its historical towns and its world-famous castles. The Loire Valley’s culinary repertoire is rich in ingredients that exemplify refined cuisine.

The numerous varieties of fish, game, vegetables, fruits, meats, poultry and cheese are among the best in France. You also taste lovely wines from the Loire Valley such as Muscadet, Sancerre and Pouilly Fumé.

The program is run in partnership with the GRETA du Cher and Lycée d’Hôtellerie et Tourisme de Blois. It includes hands-on cooking classes, as well as culinary and cultural visits to farms and castles.

Check out our culinary program to Québec City Canada who is celebrating its 400th anniversary.
