Armagnac | ||
A brandy distilled from wine made in the Gers department of southwest France, mainly in the district of Condom. Three main classifications of Armagnac exist: the grands, fins and petits Armagnacs. The distinctive flavor of Armagnac is highly prized by those who prefer a good Armagnac to an equally good cognac. However, it is generally acknowledged that the best Armagnac cannot compete with the best cognacs for finesse and breed. |
